Mark and Sarah Coffey

Your Storytellers

We are a husband and wife photography team who developed Freestone Spirit Photography – named   after the spirit of a freestone river… ever changing and maturing but still young at heart.

Meeting while canoe guiding in Canada’s wilderness; we both share a passion for photography and the environment.

Ever since we met, Mark has always had a camera in his hand – documenting life and the stories behind it.  Marks artist eye for photography and the passion to capture people stories lead him to become a professional photographer in 2006.  Mark is our creative director and principle photographer whose vision and artist style has made Freestone Spirit Photography the success it has become.

Sarah was often behind the camera growing up as she was never comfortable having her picture taken.  Being married to a professional photographer has definitely helped her get over her discomfort of being in front of the camera.  Sarah regularly works as Marks second photographer and really helps clients relax in front of the camera as she knows firsthand how they are feeling.

We believe photography is an art; an art that should capture love, emotion and the character of life. Telling your story and preserving it forever.  We look forward to telling your story through the art of photography.

We are committed to making our environment better.
We are outdoor loving; canoeists, skiers, hikers, occasional huggers of trees.
We are former ski patrollers and met while guiding wilderness canoe trips.
Mark enjoys ice-fishing. – Sarah not so much.

Nice Words…

Needless to say it is absolutely spectacular.

You did an unbelievable job of capturing the joy of the day and the personality of everyone involved. We will treasure it forever.

Beyond the beauty of the images themselves, I’d like to express my deepest appreciation for the grace with which you and Sarah handled my hatred of cameras. I was afraid that I would have to spend the entire day being self conscious about the camera. Instead I had an absolutely spectacular day where you perfectly adopted the role of friends participating in the celebration with only a few suggestions here and there to ensure we captured the most memorable moments. Your support meant the world to me.

Thank you so much.

“EEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! I just shattered our new crystal vase with my squeals of delight!”

. . . Rose’s mom cried through most of it.
